What does the course comprise?
We have been delivering the course for over eight years, so it is tried and tested with many successes to show that it works.
It comprises three sessions that take place over the course of a day. Each session is about 1½ hours long but you won't be in the saddle continuously all that time. If required, we can book accommodation on your behalf.

Time-out in-between the sessions allows you to relax and absorb what you have learnt and enjoy the surroundings, usually a Country Park situated on the edge of the New Forest.
There are plenty of non cycling activities in the area if you decide to extend your time in the area and take a short break away from it all.

There is no pressure to progress at a particular speed. We have found that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and the 1-2-1 format means that the course moves forward at a pace to suit you.
Nerve racking though it may be for some, we try to make the experience enjoyable and have a laugh along the way!
To give you an idea of what we cover:
- Fitting a cycle helmet
- Getting the right size bike
- Getting on and off the bike
- Starting off
- The 'balancing act'
- Stopping
- Steering and Cornering
- Understanding/using gears
- Additional advice as requested (e.g. on buying a bike, helmet, car rack, child seat)
